There is a world of crap all around us. Everywhere we turned we saw it: in our our neighbourhood, in our friends’ neighbourhoods, in cities and towns far and near. We figured it was time to shine some light on what happens with all this crap. It’s the result of a world of consumption run amok. Not a pretty sight.
To be fair, I need to give you a bit of the back story here. When my mom died, we moved into the family house. But as so often is the case, we had to sort through a ton of stuff. The stuff we had to sort out belonged to both my mom and to us.
It dawned on us that we accumulate an incredible amount of crap in our lives. These little bits and pieces don’t really seem like much at first, but over the years add up to the point that they overflow the confines of a home, and fill the nooks and crannies of garages, storage lockers, and every other imaginable empty space. The result: A World Of Crap.
This world of crap that we accumulate finds its way into garage sales, estate sales, second hand, junk and curio shops, and of course also the landfill. The root cause of World Of Crap? Our society’s gluttonous consumption of consumer goods, and the driving need to keep up with the latest trends in décor, fashions, and of course the Smiths who live next door.
This website is intended to shine a not-so-pretty light on this World Of Crap, and provide a good laugh along the way. Because let’s face it, if we don’t laugh, we’ll never stop crying at all the crap that’s around us.
